Launched in partnership with Virtual Regatta and World Sailing, the championship will include seven qualifying events over the course of the season, with each respective winner earning a place in the eSailGP Grand Final on August 14th, with a "Wildcard" for the best junior eSailor. The finalists will compete on eF50s.
Sailors and non-sailors alike will be able to commit to a full season of competition throughout 2020 to compete against the best eSailors from around the world, including SailGP athletes. The championship consists of four qualifying rounds, which will coincide with the events of SailGP's second season, as well as three additional pop-ups to qualify.
Qualifier
All players can participate in as many races as they wish during the qualifying rounds, but they must at least complete the required 13 races. Once these races are completed, the top 8 players will be contacted and invited to the qualification final.
Qualifier Finals
The 8 best players will participate in 3 final races that will crown the two best players. The two best players after three races will compete in a Match Racing round. The top 8 players from each final qualification will compete to win a Play-Off place in September 2020 eSailing World Championship. The top eight from each
eSailGP Qualifiers will be automatically selected for the PlayOffs of the eSailing World Championship which will take place in September 2020.
Grand Final
Each Qualifier winner will earn a place at the eSailGP Grand Final on August 14th, with a "Wildcard" for the best junior eSailor. The finalists will compete on eF50s. The two best players after three races will compete in a Match Racing round.
